I started my CrossFit journey in late 2009. I was prioritizing strength training but trying to balance cardio as well. after a long plateau I found CrossFit and became hooked. I did the workouts in the firehouse gym off the main site for awhile supplemented with a few weeks at CrossFit Belmar. (now CrossFit Killfit). I noticed increased health and performance across the board. I have been struggling to keep a healthy body weight since 2005 when I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. Pairing CrossFit with clean eating for performance has helped me keep my weight in a healthy range and has cut down on my symptoms dramatically and it is improving as time goes on. I have travelled around and experienced different coaching styles doing drop-ins at boxes all over the east coast. After awhile I started to have some friends train with me and I found that I enjoy coaching and participating in CrossFit more than anything else. Coaching is my passion and CrossFit allows me to live and breath it on a large scale. I get more excited about my athletes beating their times than I do about my own levels. So don’t ask me about my Fran time, ask about my athletes..
